FAQ
Q: How long do readits last? A: Readits are persistent unless deleted. Only the access tokens can expire.
Q: Can I edit a readit after creating it? A: Yes, you can update content anytime. Links remain the same.
Q: Can I use readits offline? A: No, readits require internet access to fetch content.
Q: Are readits searchable? A: Public readits are searchable. Private and unlisted readits are not.
Q: Can I use PDFs? A: Not yet. coming soon
Q: Is search an API? A: Not directly. Results are injected into the template and rendered to Markdown.
Q: Can I embed files from another readit? A: Yes, if it belongs to the same owner and visibility allows it.
Q: Are private links indexable? A: No. Only public links are indexable and listed.
Q: Are the tokens calculated in each file correct? A: The count is a highly accurate estimate. The exact tokenization can vary slightly between different AI models.
Q: What’s the maximum size for a readit? A: Each readit can currently hold a maximum of 2 million tokens.
Q: How secure is this tokenized link? Each token is a CSPRNG-generated, URL-safe 16+ character value (~95 bits of entropy), making brute-force guessing cryptographically infeasible; with server-side rate-limiting and the requirement that the token must match a specific resource slug (an attacker needs both token and slug), practical guessing attacks are effectively impossible.
